A day in the life of a teacher…

My 12 Step Program

My 12 Step Program

Step 1. Try to be perfect.

Step 2. Immediately fail at step 1, get back up and proceed to step 3.

Step 3. Read and study my bible.

Step 4. Pray

Step 5. Worship

Step 6. Fall to my knees.

Step 7. See from the perspective of a wretched sinner saved by Grace.

Step 8. In humility and obedience, be determined and diligent in my role as a teacher/mom.

Step 9. Remember that step 1 did not work for me and therefore prepare my attitude for my children who are in the same boat, and will never perform perfectly.

Step 10. Breathe in all of it  every fleeting moment….then…breathe it all  out in thankful release for the time given,and  opportunities not wasted.

Step 11.  Thank God for my salvation, and pray for my affections towards him to never cease.

Step 12. Repeat steps 3-6, lay my head on my pillow and melt into the arms of my husband.

    Psalm 8

    King James Version (KJV)

    8 O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Thy name in all the earth! who hast set Thy glory above the heavens.

    2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of Thine enemies, that Thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

    3 When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which Thou hast ordained;

    4 What is man, that Thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that Thou visitest him?

    5 For Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

    6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of Thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet:

    7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;

    8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

    9 O Lord our Lord, how excellent is Thy name in all the earth!

    Amen and amen.
